Meet Robert Johnson
A Leader with Southwest Florida Roots
A Florida native, Robert was born and raised in Fort Myers. His father was also a state-licensed General Contractor and the owner of a successful commercial construction business in Southwest Florida, and Robert gained valuable knowledge and experience while working in his father’s company. Upon graduating from the University of Florida, Robert was hired by a commercial contracting firm in Dallas, Texas. While in Texas, he gained experience by working on several commercial and industrial projects before moving back to Southwest Florida. He soon began working as an estimator/project manager for a large commercial contracting firm. During this time, he worked on many prominent commercial projects in Southwest Florida, including: The Ritz Carlton Naples, The Registry Resort and the Philharmonic Center of the Arts.
A Specialist in Health Care Construction
Robert began working on health care construction projects in 1987, and he has since accumulated extensive experience in this specialty area. He offers a wide scope of services, having managed projects ranging from minor cosmetic improvements and medical equipment installations to large renovations, new construction and building expansion. Robert is uniquely experienced in commercial and health care construction. He has furthered his knowledge of health care construction by attending the annual Agency for Healthcare Administration (AHCA) conferences since 1988.

In 2000, Robert founded R.D. Johnson Construction Inc. Robert’s commitment to excellence has resulted in a reputation for providing outstanding commercial, medical and health care construction services. He and his team are dedicated to providing superior service, quality and excellence on every project. This commitment to excellence has allowed R.D. Johnson Construction to work for many of the health care providers in Southwest Florida. These clients have included Lee Memorial Health System, NCH Health System, Fawcett Memorial Hospital, Englewood Community Hospital, Peace River Regional Medical Center (formerly St. Joseph’s Hospital), Charlotte Regional Medical Center.
